The project combined selective demolition, historic adaptive reuse, and extensive new construction, retaining a portion of the original warehouse as an open-air event pavilion with commercial kitchen and bar facilities. Across the elevated wharf deck, the team introduced expansive lawns, mature trees, native landscaping, a custom Louisiana-themed playground, gathering spaces, and specialty architectural features. Delivering these improvements over an existing structure required the team to carefully balance structural limitations, drainage, landscape loads, access, and constructability. The completed development reconnects the French Quarter’s Moonwalk with Crescent Park while transforming a formerly industrial site into a highly programmed civic space celebrating Louisiana and the Mississippi River.
